Discovering Squidoo really changed my cyber life. For someone who knew nuts about Internet Marketing or even setting up webpages, Squidoo was a breath of fresh air and a sigh of relief.

It is just so easy setting up a lens on Squidoo. Lenses are what webpages are called on Squidoo. Basically all you need to do is pick modules that you'd like to include in your lens, type your article or story and publish it. It's that simple.

The modules on Squidoo are extremely varied and user friendly. Where once I used to wrestle with my PC when putting up something as simple as a Youtube video on my website, with Squidoo all you need to do is paste the Youtube url code and that's it. The video gets posted on your lens immediately, no hassle.

For people who'd like to make a few extra bucks, they even have Amazon, Ebay, Cafepress and other modules that search out products based on what you're writing and you earn the commissions.

On top of all that, Squidoo also shares some of their advertising profits with you.

If you're like me wanting to start of Internet Marketing and looking for somewhere F.R.E.E. to post your articles without having some Jimbo tell you it's too long, too short, too spammy, too much affiliate links and all that other BS that some article sites (I'm not naming names.....EzineArticles, Buzzle, Hubpages) throw at you then Squidoo is the site for you.

Man, I can't believ that it's been 4 months since my last post. No, I wasn't lying in a coma in the hospital, nor was I kidnapped by aliens. I've just been extremely busy.

Here's a summary of the things that happened.

Just after my last post in June, I took the leap and joined the Wealthy Affiliates. WA is a community of Internet Marketers, led by two IM Millionaires Kyle and Carson. Took me a while to finally commit myself to joining them not because I didn't believe in their strategies but because it would cost me USD$39.90 per month which may be low for an American but for a Malaysian like me it converts to $130.00 per month which is big.

Boy was I glad that I joined. I was not making a single cent before joining them but within two weeks after joining, I saw my first online sale. And it did not stop, I was consistently making sales after that. What WA gives you is not just self help and guides. Their internal tools are extremely superior and they even provide you with free web hosting in case you have a website you'd like to put online.

The Best Web 2.0 Site For Ranking

Got an email from Travis Sago today recommending two things:

1) That Squidoo is the best site to write articles on because not only do they allow affiliate hoplinks but also because they rank as good if not better than Ezine Articles. Have not tested it yet but am really keeen to try. I'll probably you it for my resume writing niche.

2) He suggested that the keyword phrase should be written twice in the content title. This will get it ranked faster and better.

My Site Position

I've posted two sites already on the two niches I'm working on. One is Resume & Cover Letters and the other is Vegetable Garden.

My Resume site was posted on Squidoo two days ago and is ranked at no 11 and 47 exact match. I can't find the broad match.

My Vegetable Garden site is hosted at Hubpages and is ranked at #1 exact match and #3 broad match after only 4 hours!!!! I can't believe it.

What's A Niche, Market and Niche Market

What really confused me at first was what is a Niche, a Market and A Niche Market. This caused me to choose a wrong keyword phrase and I couldn't generate any traffic. But after watching the videos and hearing the podcast a couple more times and researching Mike Mendel's blog, I think I've finally for it.

So What Is A Niche....
A Niche is something people are interested in. What I'd do is I start with a huge niche and work my way down to the smallest niche I can think of.

Take for example Cars. Are there people interested in Cars? Of course. But Cars is a really huge niche, we need to narrow it down. So narrowing Cars, we have Race Cars, Antique Cars, Brand New Cars, Japanese Cars, etc. Is this still too large? Let's take Japanese Cars and go smaller. Now we have 'buying Japanese Cars', 'maintaining Japanese Cars', 'fixing Japanese Cars', 'decorating Japanese Cars', 'Japanese Car designs', 'selling Japanese cars', 'driving Japanese Cars', etc.

Get the picture? We do not want to have a huge niche where there'll be like millions of competing pages. We want a sub niche which people would be interested in but with not much competition.

What Is A Market?
A Market is a specific group of people. Examples of markets are women, pregnant women, parents, single parents, house owners, car owners, unemployed graduates, children, teens, handicap people, etc.

Now, Then What Is A Niche Market?
A Niche Market would then be a specific group of people interested in a sub niche. If we combine the two examples above, we can come up with Niche Markets like 'single parents who are interested in buying Japanese Cars' or 'Japanese car owners who want to learn how to maintain their cars' or 'handicap people who want to drive a Japanese Car' or 'unemployed graduates who want to learn to fic cars for a living', etc.

Why is identifying the niche market important? To discover what they'd want to know. Start asking yourself how you can solve their problems.

How can you help a Japanese Car owner who wants to learn how to maintain his car well? By providing useful car maintenance tips. By providing Japanese Car maintenance guides. Now you know the solution. All you need is to work out the keyword phrases. Look at the solution and cut out the filler words. So considering the solution 'by providing useful Japanese Car maintenance tips', your keyword phrase would be 'Japanese car maintenance tips'.

Good Tips From Mike's Blog

After going through a week of videos and podcast from last year's 30 Day Challenge, I decided to check out Mike Mendel's blog. Boy oh bot do I wish I started reading Mike's blog from Day One.

What Mike did is he wrote down every word that was spoken during every podcast and video and included screenshots. In between, he even injected extra explanations just to ensure the information that we listened to is correctly interpreted.

Now I'm not saying that Ed's explanations were unclear. He was great, a genius. But sometimes on certain topics, having another person inject more information helps a lot.

When I first went through the training, I was very confused about what's a Niche, a Market and a Niche Market. I ended up selecting a wrong keyword phrase even though Ed had explained it so clearly and did not get a single piece of traffic. But with extra info from Mike, all my confusion has been cleared and I've finally selected two great niches that I'm confident about.

He also posts extra tips from his own experience. But what I loved most was his own daily experience as he himself went through the challenge.

So if you're a newbie like me, you absolutely must check out Mike Mendel's blog. I really hope he'll jot down notes again this year.

Once you’ve set up your blog, it’s time to start blogging. Ideally, your first post should explain a little on why you’ve selected this niche to blog about (and for Pete’s sake don’t mention that you’re planning to earn money from your blog).

The most important key to your blogging success is consistency. Ideally, you should post between 3 to 5 posts a week to sustain a faithful audience.

So how do you monetize your blog? The easiest was is by getting a Google Adsense account and pasting the Adsense html code into your blog layout. The best thing about Adsense is that it is fully automated; it will scan through your posts and place ideal advertisements that match your topics. And it’s Pay Per Click, so you earn when someone clicks on the ads even if they don’t end up buying anything.

Other monetization methods include writing reviews for paid review sites such as Pay Per Post, placing advertisement banners and even getting donations from your audience.

There are lots of ways to earn money from your blog but before you flood your blog with adverts, you must first concentrate on posting quality articles on your blog, building a loyal audience base and raising your Page Rank. A blog that’s filled with adverts too early in life can be a serious turn off to your potential readers.

Remember, post consistently and have patience. This is a long-term project but in the end, it will not just be profitable, it will also be self-fulfilling.

How To Make Money On The Internet Fast And Free

It is possible to make money on the internet fast and free but I must tell you, you’ve got your work cut out for you. Making money fast and free involves joining an affiliate program, finding a product to market, writing lots and lots of articles on the topics surrounding the product and posting it on a highly reputable article directory. Let’s look at it step by step.

Step one would be joining an affiliate program. Now there are hundreds of such programs you could join but I highly recommend two if them: Clickbank and Commisson Junction. Clickbank markets digital products such as ebooks and programs that are very easily sold. Commission Junction deals mainly in tangible products. As a beginner, I would suggest you start off with intangible products first so go over to Clickbank and open an account.

Next, select the product that you would like to market. In Clickbank, you would click on Marketplace and search through the individual categories until you find something you’d like to sell. As a guide, you’d want to look for something that has between 40 to 90 Gravity, preferably more than 80% %refd and paying more than $15 in commissions. These statistics can be found under the summary of each product.

Once you have found the product you like, click on ‘create hoplink’ to get the url tag which you will you to redirect your buyers to the sales page. This will tag the sales to your Clickbank ID and you get your commission.

Now it’s time to write your articles. I must tell you that whole books have been written on how to write articles for affiliate marketing. But as a summary, you’d have to figure out what the product is about in general e.g. losing weight, making money, stop smoking, etc and do a keyword search for suggestions on titles to write about.

Once you have your list of keyword phrases, start writing your articles. It does not have to be long but does have to be informative enough for your readers to completely read it.

Then, write an enticing phrase encouraging your readers to visit your product and embed a hyperlink of your Clickbank hoplink url. This enticing phrase is to be placed in the article resource box and once published will appear at the end of your article.

Finally, it is time to submit your article. Choose a reputable article directory to submit to. I have found none more reputable than Ezine Articles. Not only will your article appear high in search results on Google and Yahoo, Ezine is also where other article publishers go to for fresh articles and if they re-publish your articles, you will get a flood of visitors to your product. But Ezine does not allow affiliate hoplinks in the articles so you need to create a separate Landing Page which will redirect your readers to your product.

And that’s it. But like I said, in this strategy you are ruled by The Law of Large Numbers. So you’d have to generate lot and lots of articles consistently about the product. The more articles you publish, the more readers you reach and the more sales you’d make.

There is an easy and fast way to make money on the Internet but like its description implies, it will not be free. There are two main methods of doing so, one involves being a member of a reputable program such as Wealthy Affiliates or The Rich Jerk (two programs that I highly recommend) and the other involves buying Private Label Rights ebooks and reselling them.

Since the first method is self explanatory, I won’t be elaborating on it. Just do a Google search for Wealthy Affiliates or The Rich Jerk and let them explain it to you better. What I do want to explain is reselling PLR ebooks.

PLR ebooks are high quality ebooks written by reputable authors who will grant the buyers Reseller rights to resell the ebooks. You will be able to find PLR ebooks on any topic but I highly recommend joining Sara Brown’s Monthly PLR program. Spaces are limited to only 100 people but you can put your name on her waiting list. The best thing about PLR ebooks is that they are usually packaged together with a ready-made Sales Letter, web page and images. So all you’d need to do is just upload the web page through your web host and you’re ready to go.

So the first step is to visit Monthly PLR and select the PLR ebook that you’d like to resell. I don’t mean to limit you to the type of ebook but if you truly want to make money fast, you’ve got to select topics that are hot right now. Take a look on eBay or Amazon to find out the hottest selling items now and look for an ebook that’s related to it.

The next step is to sign up for a web host to upload your Sales Letter, ebook package and Thank You page. Take your time here choosing a good web host that gives you maximum bandwidth, maximum storage and no downtime.

Once you have uploaded the Sales Letter, ebook package and Thank You page, you need to open a Clickbank Publisher account. Clickbank is essential as it helps you market your ebook through thousands of affiliates.

Once you have your Clickbank account, just go to the Publisher tab and follow the steps in putting up your ebook for sale. Doing this, you’d have thousands of salesmen worldwide doing the selling for you for a commission that you decide on.

Now it’s time to sit back and wait for the sales to pour in. You might want to optimize your site by using Google Adwords to increase traffic to your website and do some selling yourself.

Well, No One Said It Was Gonna Be Easy

It all started with a book. Just a thin 140 page book titled "How To Use The Internet To Earn US Dollars In Your Pajamas". Written by a fellow contryman named Senze, it opened my eyes to the world on Internet Income and sent me on a whirlwind of activities that has now left me breathless.

In the one and a half months since I read the book I have spend endless hours scouring the net, trying out one money making scheme after another, readin numerous advice, blogs, articles, watched countless video. I've created 4 other blogs, written 12 articles, tried Paid To Click memberships....and now I'm tired.

Tired but wiser. I now know that unlike my initial expectations of earning millions on the internet, it not easy. Well, no one said it was. It is not easy but it is possible.

I've learnt to treat the internet like any other business venture, one that requires discipline is execution and a solid business plan for direction. I've learnt that running around the web like a chicken without a head will get me as much money as panning for gold in the Melaka River. I've learnt that just because you think you're smart and can spout out articulate phrases in a moment's notice doesn't do you didly squat unless you know what you're actually doing.

There...that's what I've learnt. So am I gonna give up this whole internet business hype? Hell, no! In fact, all that I've learnt I plan to take it to the next level no longer as a dumb kid (well, a dumb 34 year old man on the internet is still a dumb kid) but as an entrepreneur.
